A couple weeks ago I decided to run dumped 40 series flowmasters since I was waiting for my new Magnapack catback in the mail. I sawzalled the tailpipes and installed turndowns on the welded in 40 series flows. It sounded a lot deeper, a little meaner below 3K but had poorer quality sound than with the tailpipes. I have the stock H-pipe. It had a huge loss of low end torque the minute I went to dumps and the top end was not noticeable better either.
The worst part was the fumes, even with turndowns they were noticeable in traffic. Pretty sure that long term use of dumps will cause brain damage.
Anyways, the noticable loss of torque coupled with the horrendoues fumes wasn't worth the deeper tone. Oh yeah, the signature flowmaster drone got significantly worse.
