I bought a new clutch for my stang so in turn I went out and bought a new Ford Racing Flywheel too. There are two dowels sticking out of the original flywheel and they are facing the transmission side. They do not come out of the original flywheel. I now noticed that on the box of the new flywheel it says that there is 3 required dowels for the new flywheel (new flywheel has none). What is the main purpose of the dowels and why are they needed. Also why did my original only have two?
