Any tips on how to torque flywheel (75 to 85 lbs) properly. In the past it's been difficult for me to properly torque a flywheel since the crank turns as I tighten...... thanks for any tips...... Norm

I've always had luck grabbing the flywheel with my left arm, and cranking on it with my right. It also helps if you find the best position to put the most torque on the actual nut, and not the rotation of the flywheel.

I think what I did was wedge a screwdriver between two of the bolt heads and hold the flywheel from turning.

I would run a philips screw driver through one of the open holes on the flywheel and through the open starter hole on the backing plate. As it rotates it will catch the backing plate and stop.

You can buy a flywheel locking tool at the parts store for about $20...saved me A LOT of frustartion and bloody hands.
