I HAVE A SET OF VALVE COVERS PART NUMBER=M-6000-F302**. I AM USING THESE ON A 302 WITH 1.6 TRICKFLOW ROLLER ROCKERS. I HAD TO TAKE THE BAFFEL OFF THE OIL FILL PORT SO THAT MY ROCKER NUTS WOULD CLEAR THE COVER. WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM? HAS ANYONE EVER RUN IN TO THIS PROBLEM? WILL THIS CUASE A PCV SYSTEM PROBLEM? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Hmm...I am using my stock vc with 1.7 rockers and I didn't have to alter anything
However, I used a set of Felpro gaskets that came double stacked.

The driver's side went on fine. but the passanger side did not fit. it is a fuel injected car and the covers a brand new out of the box. i had just finished the rocker arm set up and went to put the covers on and the passanger side was lifted up in the fron about a 1/4 inch. so i took the baffel off of the filler neck and put it back on and it fit perfect. i did not understand why. should i stack gaskets and put the baffel back in?

use the baffle. I don't understand why one side would fit and the other would not. You should double check that the other one really did fit, and double check that you adjusted the rockers properly, and one of the nuts is not sticking up higher than the others.

Alot of people have to do this, that is why others go with the "tall" version, and get a intake spacer. Just make sure your oil cap is always on, and you should be fine.

A filter in the piping above the baffle may be a good idea though.

i had to do this to my stock valve covers to clear a set of 1.7s i have. i recommend NOT removing the baffle. you'll start getting oil in your intake, which obviously is an oil consumption issue. it's more trouble than it's worth. i have since replaced my valve covers with a set of 95 cobra's that has the baffle in it, but is raised to clear rocker arms. if you have to, fabricate another baffle that will work to clear your rocker arms, or modify the one in the valve cover now so that it'll clear your rocker arms.

I had the EFI Cobra valvecovers, very similar to that, and I just had to grind down some of the mold castings inside the valve cover and they fit fine, as far as clearing the 1.6 Scorpion roller rockers.

There bolt holes did not match up very well though, in my opinion.

I had these:

I had a problem with mine not fitting under my non-spaced Performer intake on the driver side. The PCV fitting from underneath the intake was hitting, so the simple solution was to screw in the PCV fitting just a little bit more, and the problem was fixed

WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD WAY OF MARKING THAT BAFFEL TO TRIM IT UP, SO IT WILL FIT OVER THE ROCKER NUTS?

Put a thin layer of clay on the baffle, then install and turn over the engine a couple times and see where it was making indents. Trim just a little bit off each time.

I personally just removed mine
