i still have the fog light support bracket on my car (GT 1989 mustang) and i want to remove it and was wondering if anyone who did this had to reinfoce the bottom part of the bumper on the bottom or is it strong enough to afford this loss of reinforcement? i dont want my bumper to break or fly off at high speed!

removed mine and still haven't w/o a problem...... been over two years. I wouldn't worry about it the bumper is plenty strong without it.

On my GT frnt end I got rid of it for a while, but it seemed that the front flexed too much to me. WHether it does or not, I don't know. But it definitely provides some support -- over just being for the foglights.

Some guys seem to have problems with flexing and others don't. I have had mine off for about a year now and no problems but I have seen guys who have taken theirs off and the lower part of the bumper starts to sag and fold some. Doesn't look good. So it is kind of hit or miss.

i think i'll take it off and then maybe reinforce the area with a long piece of thin aluminum angle and screw through thebottom of the bumper into it, i guess i could even just put a piece of wood trim and fiberglass it in too to keep it light, i'll let everyone know if when i take it off i have any problems and need to come up with anysolutions for it, thanks guys!
