Ok so as some of you may have noticed I just recently installed a cobra bumper and finally got around to installing my ultra clear fogs. After whining and searching I finally got them wired up to the convertible top power and was really enjoyin the new look. Now I go out today to help my buddy install a set of fogs on his 00 V6 only to notice this.....

Now I still have the crappy bulbs that they sent with the kit, so how the hell is a 10K HID kit supposed to look good in here?

Same damn thing happened to me, went through two sets not sure what to do now. I might run HIDs because they'll run cooler.

That's one thing I'm noticing on other forums. But what the heck should I do about these? I've had them for about a month or 2 and just now installed them. I will send them an email to and see what they say.

Looks like you bought the el cheapo fog lights. The cheap plastic just can't stand up to the heat put out by the bulbs, even though the bulbs don't really get that hot.

Why did you wire the fogs into the convertible top wiring? Did you want the fog lights to come on independent of the headlights?

Tom I have to agree, I have been reading a lot about people using regular halogen bulbs in their fogs and had the same problem. My buddy just got new fogs for his car but he is running a 10K hid kit in em. So I'll see what his do?

I was getting ready to order some to go in my new Cobra bumper and then saw this, so I'm gonna wait. I don't really wanna get the stock replacement ugly ones, but I know they won't burn up at least...maybe run them with HIDs to make em look better That sucks! Definitely let us know how they do with HIDs in em...

I bought some of those "HID-like" lights (which they actually are close) from Wal Mart for my old IROC camaro and they worked great, gave off a s@*t ton of light...they make a round version too. I'm tellin ya, I drove home from church (3 miles) a few times without turning on my headlights cuz these things were that bright!
I've been thinking about buying those and fabbing up some brackets to make them work. Anybody else tried lights other than Cobra specific ones?
