Fog light wiring, need help

I bought the fog light wiring harness from CJ pony and here is the website for the wiring diagram http://www.cjponyparts.com/TechFog99.asp Kinda piss poor if you ask me. I just got it in the mail and noticed the relays weren't on the harness. Do i need to buy a pair of relays from the local parts store or are they already located on the car somewhere? I doubt they are already on the car but thought i would ask. Oh, this is an 03 V6 car if that helps. Also, i bought the dash fog light switch off of ebay. Is there a connector behind the dummy switch in my dash to hook this switch up and if so, are there wires attached to that connector? Which wire should i splice the green w/black stripe trace wire into on the connector? Just looking for a little guidance on those who have done this. Thanks!

The web site diagram is misleading and inaccurate. The relays are probably not installed on cars without factory fog lights, but the wiring might be there. Look behind the bumper with a hand mirror and flashlight to see if you can find unused 2-pin connectors for the lamps.

The picture on the web site shows 2 relays in the kit. If you ordered the full kit and did not receive relays, you should complain.

I have a plug behind the dummy cover in the dash, and there is a plug in the fusebox under the hood, but no relay. I couldn't find any unused plugs on the harness behind the bumper, so I ended up running my own wires and using the relay that came with my aftermarket lights.
The factory wiring only allows the fogs to be on when the headlights are on too. If you want to be able to have them on with only the parking lights, you'll need to rewire the factory harness, or just run your own wiring.

Radio Shack has a lighted rocker switch that fits almost perfectly in the factory switch hole, and looks stock. The factory switch is hard to find, and usually runs $20 or more.

Thanks everyone for the help. I figured i would have to buy the relays (i asked them and they said they were extra). What i am confused with is this, the harness i bought is a fancy way of wiring them yourself (from what i can tell). The harness taps into the hot wire on the switch and has a constant hot wire from the battery. Once the switch wire turns on, the relays are kicked on and the fog lights turn on. Am i thinking clearly? So if i am to run this harness and tap into the factory connector behind the dummy switch (which will now have the fog light switch, won't these lights be outside of the headlight switch? If it helps any, here is the ebay item i won http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=7970867805&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT Any ideas on which wire i should splice into on the factory connector behind the dummy switch? I do know that the cars aren't prewired for the foglights like the 95 or so and earlier cars were. I already have the foglight switch so a Radioshack one is out of the question. I also want it to be independent of the headlights/running lights. I found a website online that states how to make them independent but it doesn't use this harness. Thanks and keep the suggestions coming!

The eBay photo doesn't provide enough detail. It would help if you could make a list of all of the connectors, components, and free terminals, along with the wire colors to each.
For example:
2 pin connector/ yellow and black
4 pin connector/ yellow, black, red, white
ring terminal/ black
inline fuse holder/ red, blue

I think I can make a schematic from the list.

I'm pretty sure that if you call the number that they list on the auction they're be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

I actually just bought the OEM switch from ebay to use as a power cutoff for my radar detector as I do not have fog lamps. There are 4 leads on the OEM fog switch.... ( I do not have the wiring harness that the fog lamp tweak pages refer to )

The two larger leads are obviosuly for switch control but I can not figure out how to use the two smaller leads to activate the indicator light... I tried putting it inline with power running either direction and no dice. Mabye you were better off getting the Ratshack switch.... paid 20$ for mine from ebay shipped.

I too am interested in better diagraming of the fog lamp system, specifically the switch and indicator light ;)'

The Haynes book doesent help, but it might help you :(
