Ahhh.....what do you know!

You like the sound of a Dodge Neon with AMG badges and a "turbo" exhaust.

Honestly though, one day I will switch back to a full exhaust just for the heat and smell factor.....considering I have no AC either.

i think you could take more weight off the car by taking a **** instead of hacking off your tailpipes.

I've never weighed a set of tailpipes, or my **** for that matter. But I highly doubt I've taken a **** that weighs 20 or 30 lbs. Lets say that you do take 20lb ****s. Remove your tails AND take a ****, now we're talking 40 or 50lbs. Now we're gettin somewhere. If you piss while you're sittin there taking a ****? **** we gotta be shavin a tenth off the quarter by now.

Tell me this sounds like a dump truck to you....and I'd have to question your hearing.

It doesn't sound like a dump truck. It sounds like someone shaking two golf balls around in a large coffee can and occasionally blowing air upon the microphone.

I'm sure it's just the recording and/or my crappy desktop speakers here at work. I don't doubt that it sounds badass in person. Lopey cam idles =

Just for giggles, I've been toying with the idea of hacking off my tailpipe on my '84 and running that quiet, crappy stock-type muffler (which probably came off a four-banger model) as a dumped arrangement, just to see how it'd sound. I just don't have the dough to spend on a replacement muffler (I'm thinking Magnaflow) and tailpipe to do it up right.

If he'll gut them for free...why not? But, you may not pass the sniffer after you do.

As for dumps, they're illegal so that'll fail you right off the bat. The law states that you must have tail pipes that exit behind the cabin...i'm still not sure how Ford got away with the side exits....maybe that's far enough back, but still dumps i think they'll just say "oh you don't have tail pipes" and fail you.

What i would do is save your stock H pipe with the cats and just save up and buy a used offroad H or X, and swap out the stocker when you need to get tested. As for mufflers...this depends on your taste so i'd suggest doing a search and listening to the 100s of clips on here of various setups. Myself, i'm partial to Magnaflow, Mac and Spintech, but there's a ton that sound awesome and perform well too.

Drive INSIDE the car and you'll see what's obnoixious about them.

I ran dumps for a day. I hated it and put tails back on.

Yes they can be annoying. My GF hates them, but then again she likes going fast, so its a give for a take.
