If your gonna S/C that baby you better get the adapter plates or entire kit from Livenoise.....I heard that adding a S/C would blow the seal out since it's not a good fitting seal (PI or NPI) This is just what I heard. I'm a noob to this mod, so don't take my word for it...However, I would really do some research before trying it.

Ford replaced some 96/97 intakes with ones with the aluminum crossover as the '02 + 1/2 ones have. But if you look at the runner length, that is where the difference is. The PI intake style is much deeper (in height) than the NPI ones. Hard to see since it's hidden below and inbetween the V.

One more thing, go here for pics comparing the two. Again, looks the same from the top view, but the front view, where the runners are visable is another story.

hmmm thanks for the link. Mine does look like the 2000 model one but its hard to see how deep it is when its all hooked up. So thats the differance in the power, right? Ill try to look closer tomorrow now that I know where the differances are. I guess I really dont know for sure. I dont wana buy a new intake since I got this new one 5000 miles ago for FREE.

I got a 2000 off ebay used with 14000 miles with everything but a thermostat for 180 shipped. Just keep looking on there, they always show up. Gotta love ebay

the intake comes by itself and it just uses the original factory hardware. as for knowing if it is npi or not..it would have to be taken off..the only way to tell is to look at the ports fromwhat i understand..the pi intakes have a flare at the bottom of the runner that bolts to the head..also the gasket fit as good on th pi as the non pi intake. the rubber seal touched all the way around and i dont think it would hurt to supercharge it with the npi manifold gaskets
