funny someone brings up that nobody has metal covers for the fender wells. I'm in the process of mocking up a set i hand made for my coupe. I hope it will look good,ialso did the wire hiding and smoothed over all the holes but i'm going for another look with my idea. i'll post some pics here soon.peace

Did ya miss this? I've seen a couple others try to do it but it always seemed that the better way to use pre-fabbed panels was to cut out the stock area completely and then weld the covers in place. Of course that all depends on what the owner wants out of his efforts so "better" will vary from person to person.

there is a company who makes covers unfortunatly i found this out after i did all the work myself its Aluminum Engine Bay Panels, Rear Seat Deletes, Door Panels, and more for your Mustang there really nice and cheap.

Mine WILL not look like that!! there is no way I am spending that much time and energy! I filled most, but a lot of stuff will cover the holes that aren't filled. I plan on hiding some (not all) wires as well.

I am not looking for show like the above or 25th's. Just want it nice and clean looking. Plus, i still have to keep emmissions for another 4 years so..

What I am doing though is re-looming ALL wires with Painless black wire braid for a nicer look. Doing the hoses and fuel lines too. It should look nice.

Thanks for the compliment, but if you think mine is for show thats misinformation. Ask anyone who knows me, my car gets driven, raced and abused more than it has or will ever be parked at a show! My bay does show it now, with paint being chipped off, oil on the VCs etc... but then again it does present well when cleaned up and shined.

I too have emissions and need to go very soon.

I will say a bay like Jesse's (macnblack) and Daves (manson) are works of art, and if I had them I would be inclined to keep it cleaner and possibly work/race/abuse the car less. But that is just not me.

Trust me, if I were into racing I'd have a different look to my bay for sure. It'd be clean and neat but the polished/chrome stuff wouldn't be there. I'd do some sorta powdercoat/paint color scheme like MacNBlackStang. That's the plans for whatever my next project is, which depends on what the girly wants

I do drive it everywhere it goes as you know, it just doesn't go places every day

Yeah Dave, I have seen your car track a lot of miles, still must be hell keeping it clean with all that driving.

I will say this though, having the wires hidden, and the holes welded, actually makes cleaning MUCH easier. It makes it similar to cleaning the outside of the car. Cover the motor, wash the bay with soap and water, and then wax it up like the exterior!

nah, didn't come out wrong. Your engine bay is nice tho! Just because it looks good, doesn't mean you can't drive the crap out of it!

Yeah, thats why I drive the crap out of it. Thousands of miles, hundreds of track passes, too many full throttle passes to count!

Doesn't make me wonder one bit why I own it.

I let my friend take it for a ride, he came back smiling ear to ear.

Don't you guys worry, this car is going to get it. I'm planning on racing it ALOT and driving it ALOT! Yea its gonna suck to keep clean but thats the whole fun of it. I'm also planning on showing this car alot too since I've never been into that scene.

HAHA! I know what you mean. It's a lot of work! get ready! and i am not doing half what others have done.

I have done it two times, once when it was white, once when it was black and gold. It's a bit of work, but welding is fun in my opinion, and then grinding is a good time. The bondo work sucks.

yea, cougars, fairmonts, lincoln mark VII's, mustangs. The holes all serve a purpose, just not on everycar. I have 80+ hours into my engine bay and it was so much work but totally worth it. The engine bay is so clean now.
I'm an engine bay pic whore (its all I got to show off right now) lol

I know this is an old thread but I'm curious what pulley you have there to delete the a/c?
