Hey guys...My Kenne Bell (9psi intercooled) kit should be shipping out this week. Quick question...on the switch chip, the power mode is for 91+ octane and the shootout mode is for 100+ octane, correct? When guys are advertising how much power they make, are they in power mode? I doubt I will ever use shootout mode...don't have access to race gas.

Also, where are you guys mounting your switch for the switch chips?

Mine should be here Wed. I guess some of us got lucky, I ordered mine just over a week ago. I will be putting it in Friday (probably starting at like 3:00am since there is no way I will be able to sleep). I will try to post pictures as I progress. Wish mel luck. :D

I have my switch TAPED into the Power Mode to ensure I don't accidentaly hit it. You do not want to switch it if you're not running 100+ gas.

That said, I always run in Power Mode because I never use race gas. The numbers below are all in the Power Mode.

You are lucky. Those are high numbers for the power mode. What's the trick?

Quick Question.. Isint that a lot of power (443 rwhp/459 rwtq) to be on the stock internals? I was looking at your site and did not see anything about upgraded internals.. Just Curious.

Good gas, open exhaust, good tune, enough mods... don't know for sure but we can get away with a lot more over here I think than stateside... to smog checks, no inspections etc.

Stock internals can handle that power if you don't race and beat on it. If you go to the track much, you need to be carefull, but for a daily driver like mine that has seen only 14 trips to the track over the past year, it's not an issue. I put the blower on with 55K on the car, and now have 72K and so far so good, and it still runs strong and great.

Of course I also atribute some of this to the fact it's a Windsor motor, which I am a firm believer that are better blocks than the Romeo's... but that's just me.

BrightBlue...those are impressive numbers. I hope mine puts down close to that...I would be happy with anything above 415. I got my kit with the 90mm big tube kit, 75mm throttle body, cold air kit, etc. My 00 GT has 51,000 on the clock right now so it sounds like our situations are similar. My car is running as strong today as it did when I took her off the lot in Feb. of 2000.

Mine is putting 418 horses to the wheel on the shootout mode. With the Powermode, the power shrinks to 403 rwhp. Great numbers if you ask me! :nice: I put the blower on when the car had 13K miles about 10 months ago. It now has 15K+ miles with no problems. KB rules! :hail2:

How much did you pay for your entire kit?

are you running on the tune from kenne bell or did you get it redone by another place

I had mine retuned so I could beat on it since I drive it alot (15K miles in a couple of months with lots of trips to the strip) my numbers are on my winter tune and my flip switch is in a bag in my passenger seat pocket since it has been so hot down here I don't ever use it. My current tune puts the same HP but a little less torque (I can't tell the difference :D )

Yes, the original KB tune, which I have had zero problems with it. Keep in mind guys I was a guinne pig of sorts as was Red Dragon, as was B C with his Bullitt. We were the first ones to do this , helping to mold the current instruction manual you will see with your kits, and in doing so have a few different parts than what's in the kits now.

2000 4.6 - you have a 2000 and a Windsor like I do. There are distinct differences with the Windsor that I discovered during the kit install that even KB didn't know about, because they didn't develop on a Windsor, one being I had to grind part of my block under the intake (pics on my website), removing some material from a not-used anymore mount. The KB intake did not site in the well, hitting that mount. I understand they redesigned the intake to compensate for that, whereas I still use that original KB cast intake, which may flow ever so slightly different, I don't know.

Since I installed my kit KB has added the Cool Air Kit fenderwell cover plate, fuel system schrader valve adapter, changed chips they use, and a few others I can't think of like, well the instruction manual I remember now.

There are a couple others in the mid-high 430's around I've seen, but not sure what they've done. Anyway, this old man is having fun, as it should be at 52, and ready for more.
