If you are looking to seal the hole...if that is the question, then you need to go behind and lay down some duct tape as a base. Then get some RTV of a color appropriate to your enginebay color and squeeze and spread over the tape so you have a flexible rubber sheet there when it dries.

I plugged almost a dozen holes like this.

I stuck the stock rubber grommet back in and plugged the little hole with something. I don't remember what.
