Yeah, I think I am going to show up. Get some use out of the Stang for a little bit. I will hopefully beat my best time of 15.8 and get a 15.9!!! On that note, maybe I will just watch so I don't get laughed at.

I heard you get two trial runs in, then the eliminations begin. You're an auto, so should be pretty consistent with your times. In otherwords, I'd race since you have a greater chance of winning the whole event then a 'faster' 5 speed vehicle would.

I wanted to go, but apparently it get's pretty busy and the whole eliminations thing makes 'ya go ... d'oh.

The number of trial runs will depend on the number of cars there. If turnout is low, the'll let you make more passes. Also, if the bracket racing finishes early -and it did last year, they let you run again. I suspect you'll be able to make all the passes you want. There are no Jr Dragsters to take up time, and eliminations go fast. If you are going to any event at the track, go to this one.

Pacific Raceways, formerly SIR. It's about 4 miles east of Auburn on Highway 18. Just take the Green River Community College exit.

Any guesses on an E.T. for a first time at the drags?
What was stock on a 94 5spd something like 14.9?
I'm no longer stock but it's tougher to launch now with the new engine.
I'm hoping to get a low 13 and praying for a 12.99.
Relavent mods are a full Global West suspension and subframes, 275 RE71 tires, and a 91 short block with 2030cam, crane valve springs, 1.7's, Cobra intake, 65tb, 75 pro-m, 24#s, 155 pump, short belted underdrives and FRPP computer, headers and exhaust.

I think you are being a little ambitious with your expectations. What heads are you running? Those are the most significant power maker. Are the tires you described street tires? If so, you are going to need ET streets or at the very least, drag radials to get those 60ft times down.

They're stock newly reworked heads. They are a street tire but I'm running a torque arm suspension with adjustable shocks.
Is a 13.5 really that far off? This car feels pretty damn fast and lauches great on the street. My only track experience is autocross and OT which doesn't really have a manner to measure launch.

How "reworked" are those heads? Are they fully ported with larger valves? If you were running some top quality aluminium heads (and everything else you described) and slicks, you'd have a shot. Just get out there and have some fun and go with no expectations, if that is possible. Just figure that this first time at the track will give you a baseline for future mods, and some experience. I'd think you successful if you could run some 13's. Leave that as your goal. That will be tough enough with your mods.

Stock50LX nail it on the head, just goes out there and have fun with your car,get yourself a baseline number and go from there, road racing suspension are not the best setup for standing start drag racing. The mods on your car will be a good start for a power adder later on,I guess right now it might add about 40-45 hp to your overall horsepower but the 94 Mustang weights a bit more then the Fox body. I believe a high 13's is not out of reach with good drag racing tires.

Take care,

k.

Ya, I assume I won't make the most of the car first time out but I'd be really disappointed if it ran high 14's.
The heads are stock they just have been redone with seals, springs and that kind of thing.

You need better flow to take advantage of that cam. Your next mod needs to be heads (or porting). I didn't see gears in your list of mods. What are you running? That may be a higher priority than heads. Anyway, come out and see what it does. There's just one way to find out. Who knows, you may prove us wrong!

I have a 3.08 gear. Mods only come to replace broken parts now. Except for my birthday when I ditched the lousy headlights.
Really my limiting factor is the driver at this point. But I would really like to see a 13.xx.

With 3.08's and stock heads, even 13's are ambitious -but not impossible. We'll give you all the help we can next Saturday. Good luck. Try to locate some better tires.
