They reported to me that I had driveline slop so they re-indexed the driveshaft and retorqed shaft bolts at rear pinion.

So far there is no clunk.

what were your symtoms? It sounds like the transmission/driveshaft are about to fall off the stang when I go over bumps. The stealer blew me off ...probably cause I looked to young to have a nice mustang... and told me it was "normal".

If you have a TSB or the mechanics notes/description for this, it would help me out.

No TSB's or notes. Just simply they checked the tranny and rear end and found nothing but a lot of driveline slop.

What was happening was when pulling into a parking space or backing up (sometimes) it would make a rubbing/clanking sound almost like leavesprings do when they are screwed up. Someone on here told me differntial clutches but Ford said no. I also had a loud clunk/thud sound when shifting into 1st or 2nd sometimes. Mostly when at a stop it would do it when I put it into 1st. I've been told it was normal but just to be on the safe side I took it in.

I also had the 1-2 grind but since it has only been cold 2 times since I had the car they could't replicate. Said the tranny was fine though.

Here are all of the TSB's from ALL data...

It's not always retorqueing the 4 bolts on the DS that will fix it. Ford has loose tolerances in the tranny. Adding LCAs that don't bind and an AL driveshaft will ampliphy the slop. So what some of you hear is normal. Others, it might be a bad DS or loose bolts connecting the DS to the pinion.
