Ford Racing Mass Air Conversion Kit

Has anyone used the high dollar Ford racing mass air conversion kit, Either way I need some help. I have an 86 Mustang Speed Density, I'm ankle deep in converting this car to newer drivetrain 1991 5.0/T5, my car is currently 5.0/AOD, question is should I order the Mass Air conversion kit for an Automatic or Manual? It may seem like silly question because I am going to be running a T5, but I was not sure if the SD harness has a sensor that is different being from an automatic car, I am aware of the Automatic ECM will work in T5 cars, but I can get a deal on a T5 FMS Mass Air Conversion kit. Will I be ok using a SD AOD harness converted to Mass air and then change over to T5?

I had another post about a mass air harness I bought. It has this green plug that will be under the dash when installed, It is the first plug after the ecm, My 86 does not have a plug to plug into it (at least I didnt visually see one, taking the dash out to gain better access) The entire harness is in good shape and I know where every single plug goes under the hood. This one single green plug gets me it only has 4 wires on it and 2 are spliced together. It has a fat Brown, two tan w/ green stripe, and a red. If I knew what these got plugged into, I'd splice them into the body harness somehow. The answers to this question will save me $650 that could be used to buy a BBK SSI intake, otherwise I have to use the method above and convert my SD harness to mass air then swap to T5.

P.S. The reason I dont do the Mass air swap by changing the pins around, and splicing wires, is I'm not comfortable with it. =[

Well my understanding is the manual computer will not work with an auto..however auto puter will work with manual..why I really can't say. If the deal is good just place the kit in a drawer untill such time the swap is done. Only draw back is you will have the stock maf meter...so you may need to upgrade it when you upgrade the performance to a point where the maf is no longer suitable in size. Seriously though the kit was the easiest install of any add on I have done to date.

Here we go,

Figure #1 This is the wire harness I bought from supposed 89 T5 car, came with A9L ecu, ANYONE know what the green plug does or what it goes to?

Figure #2 Heres My current Speed density Computer and Harness, No green plug anywhere....

Figure #3 Wider shot angle of SD ecu and harness. there is a part of the SD harness that runs across the top of the firewall and exits down by the drivers door, Im assuming this goes to the transmission or something??

Unless I can figure out what the green plug is in Figure #1 I have to buy the dreaded $650 FMS MAss Air Conversion for an Automatic, then do my T5 swap. Good news is, I have some sort of T5 harness and A9L computer extra for someone..... :(

I thought that was what that tan wire was. I think I have a solution that will allow you to use your stock wireing harness.

The part number for the conversion harness they give you with the ford racing mass air kit is E8ZM-12A582-B32.

This harness is the one that just plugs in between the computer and stock wiring harness, then has the mass air meter wiring comming off it. You may be able to get this part from a ford racing dealer. Im trying to find one online right now.
