i just installed a 70mm ford racing tb anf c&L plenum i also have cold air intake and a superchips programer with the performance tune. i was told from ford that the car has enterered limp mode. how do i get rid of limp mode? i just reset the computer and it went away but it will most likly come back again. they said its cause of the aftermarket parts. what can i do to stop this from happening again? its causeing my car to be slower cause its retarding timing. i have the stock H on it and a borla catback. i was reading mils will fix this but i dont have an aftermarket exhaust do i still need them? also my car idles wierd it starts at 1200 the moves to 800 and jumps up and down. how do i ajust the tps? i have a multimeter what setting do i set it to? and what wires to i touch the - and + to? also what should i set the volts to? if you can help thanks.

MIL Eliminators don't affect A/F ratio. That's a misconception. The rear o2 sensors (where the MIL eliminators go,) only monitor the efficiency of the emmissions system, and report it back to the ECM.

Sounds like your tune is jacked up bro.. I'd double check your settings. The idle is probably also messed up from the tune.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I meant to say your tune is *definately* jacked up.

Generally, when the PCM commands "limp home" mode, there will be a reason for it, and will set a code to indicate the problem. Do you have any trouble codes?

yes i did reset it when i installed it. its been 2 days and its still doing it. the guy at ford said my comuter might be out of date so it cant fix its self he said the newer ones do but hes not sure about my 2000 model. do i need to get it flashed for an update or just wait a week and see if it goes away?

viagra?

its obvious that the install of the throttle body or plenum caused it.

Not really. The fact that he had a tune on it then changed the stuff, while probably running the same tune is the problem I bet. Any time we hear of an unexplained problem with idle, while running a chip, it's almost ALWAYS related to the chip.

Nothing he changed whould need to be accounted for in the tune. More than likely it is a vacuum leak or the TPS sensor is not set right.

how do i check for the leaks? i tightend it all up just affraid of over tighting. o yea i forgot on the back of the plenum that metal piece that connects to a hose in the back came out it comes out and goes back in real easy. could this be it? also when the cars on i cant pull it out by hand it gets super stuck couse of the pressure i bet. but when its off i can pull it out. also how do you check the tps with a multi meter do i set the multimeter to 1.5v and then set the tps to .98 or something like that?
