Ford Tech Help!!! Predator fried my ECM!

Well............

Thats correct, my brand new Predator totally destroyed my ECM. Sent the Predator and ECM back to DiabloSport. There engineers cannot get the Predator to communicate with the ECM either. Lucky me, I'm getting back a useless tuner and ECM. As of now, DiabloSport is not taking responsibility for the problem which surprises me for now.

Tech question is,


1. Where is a good place to buy a new or used ECM without having to pay dealership prices? DiabloSport will be getting the bill for this, so I want to be fair.

2. If I get a another ECM "RKN2" the same number as what I have now, will I need to reprogram the keys? If so, that not good, because I'll have to have the car towed to the dealer just to have the keys reprogrammed.

You can get a new computer from a junkyard, but it can be hit or miss. And yes, most likely the keys will need to be reprogrammed.

stick with OEM, theyre only about $400 last time i sold one. they take 7-10 days because they ship to the dealer direct from the super secret manufacturer of Ford PCMs.

and yes you will have to have the vehicle towed to a Ford dealer and have BOTH keys reprogrammed.

+1 keys will have to be re-programmed, BUMMER!! that sux hit diablosport where it hurts!!

You mean Visteon? opps blew the secret...


400? screw that get it for $60-120 from a junk yard.

Isn't that the same company that mskes the Mach Audio systems for Ford, and others?

Yes they make the PCM too.

Guys,

Thanks for all the responses. I may be able to get my hands on a barely used ECM. My last question is...........

I currently have the "RKN2" version of the ECM. Do I have to get the RKN2 or can I just get one for a 99 - 04 5spd and plug it up?
