Won't access? How so?

What web browser are you using?
Do you get any error messages?

IE is the worst browser in the history of mankind. Do yourself a favor and DL Google Chrome or Firefox.

Yep, IE6, my 4 year old HP laptop does everything well enough that I don't want to upgrade yet. Still a carbed computer....

Stangnet comes up, but the forums get a fail, error says it cannot open the page.

Not much of a geek type, looking for suggestions....

Don't use firefox, it will slow down your computer with all the dumb plugins. Go for Google Chrome.

I have WinXP SP3, IE8 and it works with no errors.

The new editor has some annoying "features" in it. An extra space between m and other characters appears as you enter text when in the editor. Try typing the word "remember" when in the editor and you'll see what I mean.

There is a definite hesitation when you try and select certain text from a post you have saved and now wish to edit.

The img tags from Photobucket don't work anymore: you have to use the insert/edit image icon to post a picture. Hint, Hint - someone send me the code to post images without using the insert/edit image icon!

It is painfully slower than the old forum software, All the web pages from other sites load much faster: even The Corral (gasp! - Can't believe that I said the "C" word) is faster to load.

The slowness of the web pages loading is likely due to your browser. There are a handful of browsers that are equipped to handle sprites correctly. The pages of this forum FLY when I'm at the house. While at work... it's as painfully slow as you mention. I have an outdated web browser at work (go figure).

As far as the pics go...

I just posted big bird there, using <img> and </img> (with brackets) and the URL of the image in between.

When using the code from photobucket, ensure that you unclick the little check box that says, "Include Details" (or something like that).
