Found my tapping sound: Rockers Hitting Valve covers, help

My roller rockers are hitting the 2 narrow ends of the valve covers, ok, what are my options here? i was just pounding em out with a ball peen hammer, but how can i be sure theer not hiting w/out putting it all back togther and firing it up, also what other valve covers will fit on there? what is different about fox valve covers, etc. and last, if i go the new covers route, where can i get some nicfe ones that will fit? thanks!

To see where they're hitting, use some prussian blue for marking. Available at any auto parts store.

Fox covers will fit, and they're a bit taller (you'll need longer bolts). You could also just use 1/4" thick cork gaskets with the covers you have now.

Same thing happened with my rockers. i Ground down the corners of the rockers with a dremel to make sure they fit. It worked great.

MIne used to do that. They eventually wore a hole in the valve covers and sprayed oil all over my motor. Just use Fox valve covers.

Buy some used fox valve covers and if you can't afford it for right now just bang out until theres clearance.
