does anyone know if a gas tank out of an 87 notchback would bolt right into an 87 hatch back?

From 84-97 there all the same...should fit right in there

your sure that filler isnt longer on the hatch

doesnt matter, there is a rubber gourment where the filler goes into... it can be longer and still fit!

You will have no problems with that tank!

I had an issue with a 97 gas tank. The spot where your fuel pump goes had 4 tabs on it where my 86 gas tank had only 3. The issue is now the locking ring. I got my 3 tab locking ring to kinda fit but it isn't tight so there are some fume issues. I wonder if anyone knows how to resolve this. Where can I get a locking ring for a 4 tabbed hole? sorry for stealing the thread.
