It seems the old fox body has another common problem...hardly anybody's maplight works and are hard to find. Any ideas on where to get a working maplight? I believe mine is the pressure switch is broken.

I'm guessing the plastic plate that holds the spring is what broke? I was able to fix one of mine that broke with super glue and epoxy. It's still holding together after a lot of years.

You can usually find a decent selection of map lights on eBay.

Yep they seem to break easily. At last count, I have two broken ones still mounted in cars, and at least 3 or 4 others laying around. I may even have a good one.

I can see where they break, but I just have not gotten around to trying to fix one yet.

When you find a good one my suggestion would be to reinforce the weak plastic area with epoxy or JB Weld. It should prevent future breakage and hassle. I don't use mine very much, but I haven't had a problem since the repair.

I took mine apart and found out that the internal connections were all corroded, so I sanded them down and it worked

Intead of JB welding I just took a hot soldering iron and melted it back together :) That was 5 years ago and it still works perfectly

Most common problem is the internals corrode. You have to take them apart, sand down the connections and then "solder" it back together with a soldering iron
