Yep, it has been done.

Yes, there are a [lot] of modifications necessary for the swap.

Thank you Noobz347, what was the major modification you had to do, if you don't mind to tell.

Lemme see if I can dig up a [how-to].

You're going to need er...

Engine mounts
Exhaust system
Transmission
Transmission cross member
Front end Springs
Caster/Camber plates
Enough fuel system to support the whole thing
and of course, the engine combo...

It's a tight ass squeeze and your mother will blush if she hears you trying to get the exhaust system hooked up...

I'll dig around a bit. I'm sure we have a thread with pictures around here someplace

Take a look at this thread before you pull the trigger:

https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/advice-needed-351-or-429.892124/#post-8985085

I take it that you already have this engine on hand? If not, I would say that it [is not worth doing]. There are way better/easier/more direct ways to make that kind of power with a small block.

IMO, the only reason to full retard with big block is for something like this:

No, i don't have the motor yet, just looking to see what's the best option to get more power, around 500-700hp, thank you.

For that power range and no other criteria, I would go with a 351 block. If money is no object then a DART Sportsman or Boss blocked stroker.

Hooker/Ford Racing/Melling 460 Swap Kit for 1979-93 Mustang - JEGS High Performance

Thinking of swapping a 460 big block in a Fox body? We just made it easier for you. The swap kit includes headers, mounts, oil pan and more!
www.jegs.com
Why stop at 429? A 460 with aftermarket heads and intake would be the minimum I’d consider for the work.

Wouldn't you just fab a cross plate for the transmission, a T5 has real guts.

Guts that will blow chunks with enough torque. I think the case end is known to flex.

A T5 is like a fighter with a glass jaw. It'll fight like hell until you punch it right in the face.

And what transmission will work best with that?

A prepared C6 or PG will do fine. I am not sure if clearance, but I know drag cars have used EM either with the big block, so the Windsor block will also work. If you want a manual, the TKX is rated to 600 ft lbs. At that point, lack of traction will likely protect the transmission.

I just approved this guy's posts today. Looks to me like he's selling pretty large majority of what you might be looking for.
