Finally got around to installing my SVE SFC I got a while back. have car jacked up sitting on jack stands under the rear axle and under the front suspension so the load is "on the tires". I bolt the SFC to the seat brackets and instantly see that they do not line up to the sub frame. I was wondering the course of action some of you all would take. im doing this car on a "budget" so I have been sourcing my "upgrades" from junkyards. I would really like to have the SFC on before I drive the car again.

my Course of action was to bend the SFC to line up with the sub frames then weld them in and call it good.

FYSA: 89 mustang GT Hatch.

If you really think the frame is tweaked I'd take it to a body shop to have them check it on a frame machine. Around here, in Maryland, they charge about 75 dollars a pull. I wouldn't bend subframe connectors to match a bent car. I'd get the car straightened to fit the SFCs.

Are you saying that there's a vertical gap between the SFC and the torque box? If so, how much of a gap are we talking about? In my Maximum Motorsports SFC installation instructions it talks about what to do if this happens if there is a small gap. If the gap is too big then there is a problem with the car that needs to be addressed however if it's a small gap then you need to bend the SFC to match the car.

It looks worse than it is. I did 2 bends to off set the front drivers. Prior to bending it was off by about 2 inches at the front for center of SFC to center of sub frame. Rear was right on. Passenger front right on rear half inch off.

Car drives strait. Tracks strait as I remember. Doors close all the gaps on the car are really close to equal.

measure the car underneath from a reference point on the front driver side frame to the rear passenger side frame by the torque box, and then from the front passenger side frame to the rear driver side frame by the torque box and see how much difference there is between the two. These cars are notorious for bad tolerances from the factory, twisting like a pretzel do to hard launches. Do your doors shut properly, windows align, trunk and hood align, body gaps look good. Car ever been in an accident.

My car was off a little on the passenger side, I had to bend the SFC a little bit sideways which was not exactly an easy task.

all gaps look good to me I will measure once my apprentice (wife) gets home everything shuts fine. windows track fine and seal tight at top. I'm not sure about accidents. and when I got the car it was really "stock" I have yet to find and aftermarket part on it besides what I have done. there is a bit of damage under the car but looks like someone didn't now where to jack the car up at.

I think you need to re measure because if there is an inch and an eighth difference between frame rails there should be some pretty noticeable damage

Also you need to measure from the exact same points on each side
