what is a good round about price for having frame rails and supports replaced on a 69 mach 1. I just purchased one site unseen. Had a 450.00 inspector look at the car and all he could find was two bubbles in the paint. Got the car today and there is bubbles all over the car. The body lines dont match up. I am not a happy camper. the seller said this car had no rust on it. The frame rails are toast. Someone put a patch on them so you could not see them.

I'd start off by going after the inspector in small claims court to get at least your $450 inspection fee back. That's a load of BS!:bs: :bs: :bs:

I'm sorry I can't offer any estimates, I'm sure they vary widely across the country.

Sorry cant help with the quote but I agree with the above I would go after the inspector but you will need to get someone else to look at it ASAP to document the problems you have found.

$450 to inspect a car??? Maybe I'll start a second job inspecting cars ....

I'm suprised he didn't send you 50 digital pictures from the inspection for that kindof money.

Sorry to hear of your problems with the purchase - how much did you pay for the Mach1?

Wow -- I don't charge anywhere near that and you get a multi-page document describing every nook and cranny of the car accompanied by dozens of digital photos. You need to get after that guy. Frame rail replacement, done properly, including labor to R&R all of the necessary parts, will cost you thousands.

How did you get into appraising classic cars?

I'd love to get into that, any tips?

sounds to me youve got took so go after the guy or gal that look at it and get your money back and start lookin at them your self and you bound to know what to look for becouse for 450 bucks you can flie anywere almost

Well I took your advice and I am going after the inspection company on this one. They were suppose to check all of that kind of stuff. The right frame rail appears to be OK and the left one is not to bad. Might be able to fix with a patch or something. But the torque boxes, floor supports and toe boards are gone. It looks like someone tried to repair them but did not do it properly. What I paid for the car it should of been a solid car with no major issues.
