I have 1/2 a tank of gas thats been sitting since August. I was going to use a pump and put it into some gas tanks, but there is something that blocks the tube from reaching the tank. I think Ford must of put a screen to stop people from stealing your gas(97 Cobra). Looking for opinions. Do I :

a) Fill the other half of the gas tank with good gas and hope that it will lite.

b) Use PRI or Seafoam or other additive.

c) Start wrenching on the fuel tank.

d) a and b

I would also throw in something to absorb water like a can of HEET. Also, next time use some kind of gas stabilizer if car will sit with gas in it for a long time. I've used these products before with no problems. Pearl02.

Iso-HEET (5 times better than HEET) is just Isopropyl alcohol, AKA "dry gas".

one 6-10oz bottle of that and fresh gas is all you should need. I left 1/4 tank in my truck from october to april with nothing else and it cranked right up.

For future years, you should use some Sta-bil before filling up the tank just before storage. I've left tanks for 3 years like that and the gas was fine.
