Ok, here's the deal. My friend has a 2002 5 speed GT w/ 3.73's, Fenderwell CAI, mac prochamber, and welded in Flowmasters. Now, he just had a full head/cam swap. Stage 2 VT games. P/P heads. Problem is, he only got 30 HP out of that setup. They can not pull any power out of that car. The place he took it to is now using SCT and they even brought an SCT tech out to work on the car. And nothing. He's only getting 270 w/ that setup. Should be close to 300. What coulud be the major problem, he's even talking about getting rid of the car. Any help? The dyno tuning place has had the car for weeks. And still nothing.

very interesting dilemma..... what heads did he get? were the heads ported by a pro or who exactly by vt?

ooooo one thing came to mind any long tubes or any sort of exhaust manifold
that may be the key. all that airflow has no where to go if he is using the stock manifolds. at this point anythings better than stock.

he might swing that extra 30 hp with long tubes most people here normally do

other than that, how are the sensors, tune ignition etc?

Strange. I'm at 268 ATW with just bolt ons and factory logs. Be sad to think that cams or heads wouldn't get me anything unless I also went for LTs...

The care also is experiencing mayjor bucking at normal driving speeds. i.e. 40-50mph. I also added 24lb injectors. The A/F is dead on but the car still wont make power and it still bucks like a b*tch

Jon, my car is doing the exact same bucking yours is. Justin doesn't think it's the tune, now that yours is doing it, and you also have the Xcal 2 tune. Makes me think it's the SCT.

I'd check the coil packs, the plugs, try to open it up more, and if that doesn't work, take the car to anohter turner.
