This may be a stupid question but I will ask it anyway. I am finally nearing completion of my 66 coupe. After installing the new driving lights I tested them. My question is, are they supposed to be on with the headlights? Mine are on when the switch is pulled out to the first indent but go off when the headlights are turned on.

you got your power hooked up to the wrong wire. yes they should come on with the headlights, but i prefer to power them independently from the headlight system. that way i can turn the on or off at my leisure. i also use a lighted switch so i know when the lights are on or not.

Thanks for the reply, but I checked all the wiring and it is all correct. I did find that the headlight switch seems to be going bad as is the dimmer switch. I will replace both and hope for the best.

No. they do not stay on when the headlights are on. My '68 does the same as yours and this is normal.

yup, I had to change the wire location on the headlight switch to have them stay on with the headlights. I moved the fronts to the same location as the rear lights,

Thanks!!! That saved alot of wasted time trying to troubleshoot a problem that doesnt exist. Think I may rewire my switch to keep them on too.
