Front end damage (need advise as in to fix)

Hey, I just recently recieved a mustang with some good front end damage. I have the radiator support part figured out (1 piece). But the 2 sides where the fenders bolt onto after the strut towers is where I am lost. Do these pieces tack weld onto the strut tower brace, as in I could purchase these pieces? Or am I going to need to straighten them, or find them at a junkyard then put em on? Here are the pictures of the damage and you'll see what I am talking about. Thanks.

That car is toast, you could part it out or take it to a good body shop with skilled body men, frame straightener, paint booth, etc.

I wold guess $8000 to repair at least.

mines worse and getting fixed now. $8,000 with ALL new parts, paint, and labor. And yes those pieces you can just buy new and weld them on.

I wouldn't think its gonna be $8000 to repaire that, but its going ot be good chunk of money.
I would not mess with repair on your own unless your skilled bodyman with access to all sorts of special tools. And judging by question you asked, your not skilled bodyman i presume.

Time to call an insurance company man.

I bought it like this. I got a good deal on it. Its getting fixed, whether I do it myself or not. I totalled my civic and fixed it (not quite as bad) but I didnt do it the right way, I pulled the entire front end out and got it somewhat straight, then put all the parts on it, and got her going.

Paint I am doing, I just need the front end truely straightened. If I can buy those parts and weld them on myself, I know I can do it. This has nothing to do with suspension or anything, just holds the front of the car on which I can do most of it, and hopefully all of it.

im not sure, my body shop is doing it for me..but ill check on the paper he gave me today and get back at u. Oh, and he is buying them straight from Ford.

"just" holds the front of the car on? oh my. you will have to have a whole new front clip, and this will involve completely rebuilding the front end geometry and front-to-rear relatated geometry. if not done to the perfect specifications on a frame machine, the car will never drive right. if you dont have an insurance company to pay the tab on this, its never going to be worth it.

honestly, you will be MUCH better off if you buy another mustang that has no drivetrain to put this one into. $8k in parts is a lowball guess to repair this one, and you can buy a whole good-running mustang for that.

i needed a whole new front clip and all the parts was around $4,000.

I dont know how you are coming up with your theory but in no way is it true. I can take all the parts off of the car, and drive it around, how does the radiator support and the 2 side pieces matter at all? I'm an ebayer and in most cases will use the cheapest product I can when it doesnt matter (IE radiator support, bumper reinforcement, headlight bracket). I bet I can get this done, and painted by myself for under 3,000$. But I might higher out the 2 side things and the radiator support so I'm going to have to pay some labor. I guess I'll just have to do it to prove that it can be done.

Little less damage on the civic then this car, and I got it on the road (not painted) for like 300$. Aftermarket fender, hoods, lights, bumper and just using a chain to get the frame out. Maybe I should take it to ford and tell em I want it fixed, then we'll come up with some numbers you're thinkin of.

Tonight I'm going to price it out, then add another 500$ for misc crap that I'll probably want/need in the end. I'm telling you guys right now, there is a reason people own salvage yards, and fix vehicles like this, because if you do it right, you save a lot of money. Parts are real cheap, dirt cheap, because when you total out the front end of your mustang, do you really need the highest price for your rear decklid, or your power window motor? Same thing goes if you total out your car from the side or rear. Especially with 99-04 mustangs, these things are a dime a dozen, there like 92-95 civics rollin around.

I'm not gonna argue what people have already done/experienced, because what they did actually happened, and what I'm going to do, hasnt happened yet. So we'll have to see when I finish the product, maybe I cant do it for under 3k, but I'll come on here, post pictures and sorta how-to's s so that whoever else is thinking about it knows exactly what they are getting into.

I will, it's not going to be done in a timely matter at all (I'm in the military) but I will definetely track the progress with pictures and some write-up opinions.

I hear ya. I recently bought a trunk lid for $75 and am in the process of painting it. It was red and my car is chrome yellow so it's taking some time but I'm going to save sooooo much money in the end. Plus, I will know that I did it and that's cool in my opinion.

Right on man...

I'm tryin to tell people but some people just dont want to believe. I have a buddy who has like a 02 or something monte carlo, nice nice car. I think with all the parts and it being on the road again he has less then 3k including buying the car. It was a crazy good deal, so he is driving a fully loaded monte for less then 3k.
