alright guys. got the stang running like a champ lately, and i actually passed emmisions with flying colors today. however, i failed safety for a couple reasons. side marker buls was out, tint was too dark, and most importantly, a squeaking noise coming from the front end. now, guy suggested it might be a tie rod or ball joint that needs to be replaced, but i figured i would turn to the gurus here for advice.

now, the sound, like i said before, is a squeaking noise that's definitely more noticable at lower speed (though the flows might drown it out above that). it's definitely from the front end, and seems like it's more prominent when turning the wheel. what do you guys think? ball joints? tie rod ends? i'd really like to work on her today, as it's my only real day off right now... thanks in advance.

for me it was always a ball joint, put your finger on it and bounce the front end, for tierod end put your finger on it and have someone turn the wheel, if its bad you will feel a viberation

Sounds like lower ball joints.Mine were squeaking and once they were replaced the squeaking noise disappeared.

I used Moog ball joints. They come with a grease fitting so you can grease them.I hate these sealed non greaseable ball joints/tie rods.
