Hello all .... we will be picking up our GT500 tonight and I have a question .... the dealer said they would drill holes in the bumper for the front license plate since VA requires it ... is there any other option? I'm really not thrilled with this idea!

What dealership in NOVA are you purchasing it from? Just curious. My dealer in Tysons still has them marked up to 20K over, and I haven't had time to shop around and see if any others in the area are lower.

I run around with no front tag on my 95 GT, and the only thing that has ever happend is a housing authority police offficer in DC pulled me over for it. So, other option is risk it with no tag.

Yeah it's the same here in CA but orange county is full of expensive rides that just decide to take the risk it option. All day long you'll see Porsche, Bimmers, and Mercedes that have no front license plate. I would just go without it until I got pulled over and then tell them you had an apointment to get it taken care of. I think it might even be sufficient to have it in the front windshield. I couldn't drill holes in my new bumper without a little quarrel.

could you/they bolt a bracket behind the bumper and wrap it under to mount the plate?? that's probably the least intrusive way.

Opted not to have the bumper drilled until I get a ticket ... so, for right now it is in my front windshield ... which looks kind of tacky, too!

Kpmonti: We bought it at Cowles Ford in Woodbridge. Ted Britt Ford wouldn't even tell us how much over MSRP they were selling them. Cowles just sold a white one with blue stripes this week, too.
