hey whats up guys, i'm a newcomer on these boards and this is my first post. unfortunately my first post is of bad news. i've owned a 96 gt for about 2-3 months and i love her to death. last week was really rainy in LA and i took a turn too fast and ended up fish tailing and hitting a curb pretty hard. the guy at the shop i took her too told me i had bent the subframe in the front. i'm not really concerned about the rims i messed up cause those are minor. has anyone ever needed to replace the front subframe underneath the engine? i'm not much of a tech guy so any information on the subframe or where i could find one for a reasonable price would be appreciated. he estimated me that it'll cost atleast 2,000 bucks. am i in really deep sh-t? thanks for the help.

A friend of mine had a similar issue.Whole front end was sitting off to the side. To look at it,you would've said no way can that be fixed.
Guess what. It's on the road, still to this day.7 years later.
If your frame rails aren't damaged to much, the body shop can straighten it,and fix the related damages. If they are not repairable, you can go to your local wreckers (graveyard of cars) ,and pick up a whole new front clip. That is what my buddy did.He had a front end of another stang at the wreckers cut of at the firewall (and he got everything with it,fenders,facia,lights,ects...) ,and paid under 200 bucks for it all. Then once dropped off at the body shop, they cut his front clip off at the factory seem(s),and attached/welded the new/used front clip to that factory seem(s).You could never tell If the body shop is good, you should never have a problem.
In total,it cost my body 2000 bucks, without paint, but he already had extra front end body parts the same colour as the stang. The reason he went this route is do to the cost of mods already into the stang. If it was a stock stang,he would've got another, and part the wrecked one.

Good luck !
