I was just wondering if you could replace the shocks in front with coil-overs, like from whatsit, umm, Bilstein.

People mak kits for this but they are not cheap and it basically changes the entire fromt suspension. I do not think there is a direct replacement coilover that lets you use all the other stock components.....but I could be wrong.

I am pretty sure Bilstein are more known for basic shocks and struts, they may make coilovers but there are other brands that would likely be better in that case. For a normal set up bilsteins are one of the best. Granatelli I think is one good one MM motorsports makes them too, there are many.

I just thought if you could get a coilover with the same dimensions as the the stock shock absorber, it would bolt in and work, no? Poundage of the spring would need to be higher most likely, more leverage on it, but if it bolts in, I don't see why not.

I don't see any suspension for classic mustangs with either of Granatelli or MM.
