I have a 96 GT and recently installed my B springs on it. They look pretty good. I've had them on for about 2 weeks now. I saw where some people were saying they had directions in their boxes for cutting the "dead coil" on the rear springs. I only had springs in mine with no directions for this. Does anyone know where I can see these directions? I wanted to take a look at them and see what this is all about. Thanks for you input. Does anyone have any opinions on cutting the dead coil on the B springs?

You would cut it where the red line is. Im thinking of cutting the dead coil on my b-springs as well. Especially now that when I had the car on jackstands and the rear end fully extended down I could get the rear springs out without lowering the LCAs. There was a space between the LCA and the bottom of the springs.

So, is it safe to assume that cutting that dead coil off on that marked spot will even the backend with the frontend? Thanks for your input.

sorry to steal the tread but i got a set of bsprings that am going to put in my 02 gt. how much of a space was there ? and do u have the iso installed?

I have the isolators in both front and back. I checked the measurements last night and it looks like there is maybe about 1/2 inch difference between the front and back spaces. I'll double check them again before I do any cutting of the rear dead coil.

I cut the dead coils off my B springs over the weekend and the car handles the bumps fine. No problems at all. Not to mention they were a little easier to get in after I cut them! :nice:
