Those who have one or installed one will know what I'm talking about. The two ends are different on the shaft, which end goes in the oil pump? I assume the shorter side without the point? And also, the little washer thing that comes with it to keep it from pulling out when you remove the distributor. How do you get it on the shaft? It's too small and I don't wanna force it on if I don't have to. Also, which way should the cup side be facing, up or down? Sorry if it's confusing, thanks guys.

Place the washer on the shaft, put a socket on it that is smaller than the OD of the washer and push. The spring tension drag of the washer holds it in place.

Please check out my pic (it's only 3k). Does the clip go on like A or B?

The open end of the cup points up towards the distributor. Make sure you get the spacing right so the shaft isnt allowed to pull up too far when you pull the distributor out. I set mine so I had about 1/8-3/16 play up and down.
