Looking to get a set of headers for my 94 Cobra this week. FRPP or MAC? I cant get long tubes b/c it's lowered, but should I look at equal length, or shorty's? Is ceramic a big deal or no?

im not sure bout frpp or mac, they're both pretty good i think. So i'd opt for the cheapest, which i think would be MAC. But i would get ceramic coated as it will extend the lifetime of the part.

Mac = Crappy.

Get the FRPP if you must go shorty (longtubes = where it is at)

I had mac's, they cracked on 3 primaries, and had sevral pin hole size leaks on the collector itself. I don't know how old they where (came with the car) but the quality sucked IMO.

I love my ceramic mac. They didn't lose their color and fit awesome. Haven't had the FRPP ones.

Do the BBK shories have the 1 peice flange if so that would seal the deal for me if I had to go back to shorties..(might be for turbo sooner or later ) My BBK long tubes are solid I like them no problems yet other then header bolts backing out. *doh*

to be honest man unless ur going longtubes i would not bother with headers. Shorties are more trouble than they are worth IMO. i got some frp shorties the only readon i did was b/c i had the motor tore down to swap heads. IF i had not had it tore down they woulda been a pita to install. The main thing is the tubes are so big on the FRP's that u can not get anything but an open end wrench on them and u can almost bet youll have leaks the first time. just my thoughts so take it as u will.

FRPP - I don't know, but I would expect OEM quality.
MAC. OK, but if you ever have to take them off and put them back on, the individual flanges will be a PAIN IN THE A##.
BBK, Better, one piece flange, what I have on there now, but DON'T use their hardware. 3 of the 4 header-h-pipe bolts on mine froze in the header, and the nut froze on the stud. I was forced to BREAK the studs, and then drill them out. Get some good quality hardware and use never sieze!
(2 of those bolts I had to break this morning, after putting my cats back on FRIDAY to get it smogged. SO they were only on for 3 days, and 50 miles...)

I have sportlines like you and i'm even running on shorter fox body style shocks and struts with longtubes and i'm fine. No scraping etc; i even autocross the car and it doesnt scrape. Just have to be weary of speed bumps and potholes. Ceramic coating is a MUST if you want your headers to stay rust free forever; or you could just never drive in the rain. I used to have shorties on my car and when i switched to longtubes, it was like a HUUUGE difference in top end power. Since cobras have better breathing heads and intake, they really benefit much more than GT's do with a better flowing exhaust. If you have the money for ceramic longtubes, i would highly recommend it. Anyway for installation, it would pretty much be rape at any shop. It really isn't hard to do yourself. Just undo the header bolts and collecter bolts and throw on the new headers.
