frpp spring questions c/c and height drop

whats the difference between the b and c springs, will I need c/c plates with them, and how much drop will i get. I have a 1990 gt with some weight off the front, so i know the drop will need to be more up front, which is why these look good. I also was going to go stock replacement, but they were going to cost almost as much, and i'm pretty low on money. also if anyone knows where i can get a new spindle for pass side fromt, that would be awesome.
 
Dont go "C". You'll regret it greatly. They are HARD AS A ROCK. You'll start hating your car. Little bumps in the road will now turn into SMASH! WHAM!

The C will drop you pretty damn low and you will also epxerience some fender rubbing up front unless you're real lucky, you'll have bumpsteer issues and you'll need CC plates+alignment or you will wear the inner part of your tires out.
 
whats your pic of? what about the b springs, are they better? my ride is allready 5hitty from mileage and poorly working shock absorbers. will I need cc plates no matter what, if I drop the car? I thought you didn't need them if you dropped it less than an inch. the c springs are supposed to be 78 front and 1/2 rear.
 
First, if you have weight off the front, and use less than 245 series tires you shouldnt have any rubbing issues. I have the C springs and the handling was night and day difference. the car corners much better, flatter, more crisp. they are hard as hell though. dont plan on going over any speedbumps either. lol. i haev a 1/4 space in the front, but 245/45 series and not much weight reduction and if im FLYING around a corner it will rub. and easy corners will rub also if you have more than 2 people in the car. Once i get aluminum heads and 235'/40s in the front the car will be perfect.
 
C SPRINGS = better handling, but you sacrifice ride quality

B SPRINGS = better ride quality, but you sacrifice some of the perfomance the c springs have.

Keep in mind, everyone has different judgement, just because someone says they ride like ****, doesnt mean you will think they do.

I dont think anyone will argue with me that the C springs will slam you around. I had rubbing issue on the front part of the inner plastic slpashguard part of the fender. The top near rubbed.

Oh and speedbumps are right out with the "C"s

Oh and the pic is a muffler bearing (yo!)
 
If you plan to drive this on the street a lot, stick with the B springs. The B only lowers the car an inch so speed bumps are not really an issue but more importantly your bumpers are at a reasonably usable height... Especially in the land of trucks and suvs(I know because I also have one). It is a compromise for the handling but the B springs make a huge difference to start with.

:stupid: Some people like a stiffer ride, some don't ... the C springs are stiff and the fronts don't absorb/give like the B's will.

If you're light in the front it is better to go with B's if you are heavy, C's.
 
Blackstang, do you know any other stangers that have B or C springs that you could take a ride with? Itd be a lot easier to get an impression that way as opposed to listening to other people that have their own ideas on whats harsh and what isnt. What's bonejarring to some people might be where other people want their ride quality to be. And once you buy the springs, theyre yours so you wanna make an informed decision especially if you dont have the money to keep trying new setups.
 
haha, i didn't get the muffler bearing thing earlier, probably too early in the day, not awake. no, zero_chance i don't, but it sounds like b's are a good option, what kind of handling diff do they give over stock? and do i need c/c plates?
 
I used Bullitt Springs, Struts, and Shocks on my 92 GT. I also used Max. Mot. C/C Plates and my car dropped 3/4" all the way around plus the car handles fantastic and rides great.
 
do I need the c/c plates with the bullitt kit and do I need to do anything else regardless of condition besides an alignment? the kit is borderline too expensive so if i need them i may need to go with frpp or stock, and will i need c/c plates with frpp b or c springs?
 
I have C springs and I LOVE them.. you MUST replace the isolators at the same time as installing them though.. one of my buddy's has B springs and his car blows cornering and the ride just isn't as good.. I have no problems with my car other than sometimes I scrape my exhaust on the driveway when I pull in.. I noticed a difference in about 1/2" in height going with and without the isolators, the isolators made it a little better ride, you don't get a lot of vibration.
 
You dont need cc plates but you'll end of eating up your tires if you dont. I drove like 2 years on "C"s with no offset rack or CC plates and not even an alignment and I wore off the inner track of the tires.
 
My setup consists of Ford C spring, koni struts and shocks, 17" 9" wheels with 255 40 17s, minor fender rolling, and 1/4 inch spacers on all 4 wheels. The ride is tough but I drive the car everyday so I'm used to it now, I hardly notice anymore. My car dropped about 3/4 inch in the front and 1/2 inch in the back. I don't have cc plates but I do need them. The car handles great with the springs so if you want performance I would suggest the C springs.

No, you do not need c/c plates with the Bullitt kit. something you could do for now is get the springs, then the shocks...or if you can wait until it is more affordable then get the spring/shock kit.

The frpp "b"/"c" springs drop the car more, therefore, yes you need c/c plates.

the alignment is a must, no matter which way you go.
