1989 GT, Manual, mostly Stock.
Newer Tank and Sender
Fuel Gauge worked fine before.....
* Removing all Stereo, Interior, Dropped Column to refresh cluster, fix constant crank , bad Temp Gauge, and strip interior for rehab.

I'm thinking Ive missed a ground ?
Does cluster have a ground strap that affects Slosh Module/Gauge>?

Status:
Dash back in, but not all buttoned up.
Column is dropped/loose. Also tried tightening.
Changed Temp Gauge that was dead. Now Working
Had Dash light issue so replaced Circuit Board.

I've tried 3 Clusters, (2) 4 cyl ones,
All Gas gauge pegs past Full.
In restored 140 Cluster (I now have Dash light and Temp).
I've tried all 3 Slosh Modules with the new Circuit Board,

Same. over Full Condition .

I checked tank leads and re-grounded by sanding at taillight inner panel.

I suspect I may have left off a dash cluster ground?
Thoughts? What am I missing?

Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the last thing so I can start buttoning up interior!

Did you check the ohm range of the sending unit before you installed it? For our cars it should read 16 ohms empty and 158 ohms full.

Found yellow/wht wire in Kick Panel Connector.
Disconnected and Grounded.

Gauge moved toward empty and stayed. there.

Reconnected that Plug, then found Connector under Rear Bumper and tested at Chassis Connector, Gauge did same.

Ohm'd Sender and have open Circuit.
Guess the tank coms down again!

Thanks for Looking or maybe this helps you

On with Dash Assembly with replaced Circuit Board, Temp Gauge and working Dash Lights!

Cheers!
