fuel gauge not working..

well another problem im having is that my fuel gauge isn't working, i replaced the whole gas tank, fuel pump, pump sending unit, gauge sending unit, and when i went to fill up it seemed to work then continued to show fuel, its shows passed fuel all the time, and i am not sure if its the wiring behind the dash because the other gauges work, but the dash lights currently stopped working also, so i am not sure, help would be appreciated..also wondernig if it could be the wires at that connect to the both sending units??

1987 ford mustang gt, problems is first fog lights went out, then dash lights went out, and my fuel gauge has never worked , it is always showing passed the full

Did the fuel gauge always read full, or has its movement changed since you did the tank work?

fuel gauge never worked since i bought the car 2 and half yrs ago, thought changing everything would work but didn't

Remember the recall for ignition switches in the mustangs. They were recalled because they would sometimes set fire to the electrial wires. I had the same problem so I replaced the ignition switch and my lighting worked again. And I replaced all the same things you did, but I had to swap my gauge cluster to get the fuel level to work.
