Fuel gauge turns red

This is what I was saying the gauge is conservatively set. Makes you go early for fuel.

These pumps are very efficient, they won't run hot on a daily driver puttin around town even if you run the car dry.

Also, the fail safe on the pump is the master reset that engages and can be reset in your driver side kick panel.

I checked my log book (yes, I keep one on every car I own & have for the last 20+ years) and the most I've put into the GT at fill up has been 15.89 gallons.

How many miles did you get out of the 15.89 gals? The highest mileage I've gotten was 315 and fillup was 14.25 gals. In my car 15.9 gals would get me about 350 miles.

Seems like it's set too conservatively. I'd much rather it be accurate and tell me how many miles I have to E for real then BS me about it.

Also, why do so many newer cars have to beep when they're getting low on fuel? Kinda gets annoying when I monitor the gas gauge most of the time anyway.

My mileage for the 15.89 gal fillup was around 350. I've actually seen more miles on slightly less gas. I think so far my top distance was around 360. My commute is 26 miles each way of mostly highway driving. I've yet to run a complete interstate only long trip tankful.
