I have an 86lx 5 speed with soon to be "nothing" in the engine compartment. I think it'll be easier on my budget if I stay fuel injected, rather than go the carb route...I have some questions though concerning parts and what all is needed.
Right now it is speed density-I will be removing all of that.
1) I know I need a mass air wiring harness and computer, but which one?
2)Do I need a separate fuel injector harness, or is that included in the mass air unit?
3)Will 24lb. injectors be enough on a 306 with forged pistons and gt40p heads at 9.5:1 compression?
4)I will also need an upper and lower intake with throttle body-thinking tfs track heat with 75mm t.b.
5)Do I have to run oxygen sensors in the exhaust with this setup?
The car already has the factory efi in tank fuel pump and lines to the engine compartment, and I would like to keep using that to keep my expenses down. Is there anything else I need?
Thanks for the help guys, I want to do this right the first time, but i have a small "learning curve"as I have only worked on carbureted engines in the past...
