Has anyone reused the seal when reinstalling the fuel injectors into the lower intake manifold? For a high pressure fuel line, I'm surprised there in only the one seal on the top and bottom to secure the injector in place. Any cautions to reinstalling them correctly?

Ive heard of people doing it without problems. Its hit and miss I guess. When I had mine out I spent the few bucks and put new ones on. I think it was only $5 for felpro seals.

i never heard of anyone re-using the o-rings... its a low cost fix..you can get replacement o-rings at pepboys or napa... i paid $3.something per fuel injector.

part II: the easiest way to get the injector to sit right into the lower manifold is to lightly grease up the o-ring with motor oil.. and the injector should fit nicely in its place..

I used white lithium grease and have never had problems with leaks or the injectors seating.

Good point, if I can get a set of new o-rings for a few bucks then why not? Thanks for the tip with the oil.

I was cleaning off all the grime from the injectors and inadvertently cleaned off the paint (rubberized?) coating off one of them exposing the steal. Is the coating simply for protection, or to prevent the injector from improper grounding?

I installed the injectors and the area with the paint I accidentally cleaned off doesn't touch anywhere, so grounding shouldn't be an issue. What's the best way to coat it to prevent corrosion though?

I've reused them many times, without issue. Like Rick, I instal them with a little Vaseline.
