Fuel injector, wired a bit skimmed off on the top???

Fuel injector, wire a bit skimmed off on the top???

I was under the hood today, and saw that the front right fuel injector wires were a bit frayed on the top of the wire. They were not cut, but just skimmed off just a tad. I made sure either side was not touching the other, and then wound a bunch of electrical tape around the wire to close it off.

Should I cut, and splice new wire to this fuel injector, or just leave it alone.

I guess I will leave it alone then...

When I looked at the wire, only 1 or 2 strands of the wire were missing. The missing top portion of the wire was only 1-2 cm long.

I think tape will keep it free of problems if I just leave it alone. I would rather consider it working then to find out I had a non-functioning injector.
