While in the process of my head swap I have pulled the injectors and fuel rail off the old lower intake and was about to swap it out when I noticed the fuel injectors are really kinda nasty. Any way to clean these. Would it be beneficial since I have them out to go ahead and replace them. There is at least 90k miles and possibly 150k. If so what type are good? Just go back with the stocks, increase lbs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

theres no point in replacing them, I've seen the stock 19lb injectors handle up to 320rwhp in na applications. if the rings look cracked or dried out, it would be much cheaper to just rebuild them. try to clean then first, then see how they look after.

There are cleaner kits you can buy online or at autozone. Seems like most people who do it themselfs used compressed air to clean the nozzles and gasoline to clean the **** off them.

you can clean them, but if you want new ones I would go with Ford racing, check www.mustangsunlimited.com for new injectors

They need to be installed in a running vehicle in order to properly clean them.

(and by clean them, I don't mean the "pour it in your gas tank crap"! You need a good High presure, solvent system like this 3M unit below)

Otherwise asside from cleaning them......how often do you hear of an injector going bad?

Make sure the O-rings are in good shape, give them a good cleaning and forget about them.
