hey guys

then i recently bought 36 lb injectors w/ maf calibrated for those injectors. i put them on my car without the FMU and the car ran like crap. barely idled and had NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO power.

my gas line coming from my gas tank to/ from the fuel filter hit my exhuast and ended up melting (hit the exhuast). this hose had a rubber outside with a very hard rubber hose on the inside that connected to the fuel filter up to the top of the gas tank. it was spurting fuel all over the place. that hose from ford costs 120 bucks and i didnt have the money so i went and bought a replace hard rubber hose and cut it in half and then put the hard rubber hose inside a regular rubber fuel hose. this seem to have fixed the problem.

so i switched back to the stock stuff. (have 255 intank) i put this stuff back in and the car felt like it lost 100 hp or so. it doesnt pull no where as hard as it did before i played with it. i didnt change fp at all or nothing.

what could be wrong? do you think buying that hose would solve the problem? if so what would be different about it. the only differance that i could notice is that the small i beleive 5/16" hard rubber hose went throughout the entire outer hose (as a heat sheild i guess). The hose i made was two seperate peices of the hard rubber hose and they didnt touch in the middle.

what do you guys think?

So how did you try to patch up that hose? Tell me if I'm wrong but you took the two ends of the hard rubber hose and then slipped them into a larger rubber hose and clamped it like that? Is it leaking? i would also have to say that i think #36's are just a little to big. Did this 9sec stang guy adjust your Fuel Press with the larger injectors too....maybe try that. Or just get on a dyno and have it dynotuned. good luck man

i dont have guesses, but maybe an idea. if your hoses leak, you could try some metal line in the melted off area. the loss of I.D. should be minimal. the fuel system can support extra HP, so i would think it would be ok. if you have a FP gauge (great addition given your issues), you could monitor it for a pressure drop at any time.

when i got my car, i noticed the same line had hit the tail pipe. it seemed ok enough that i slid heater hose over the existing line as a heat shield/barrier and tied the line up away from the pipes.
i like the line of thinking that the FP is still set for the 36 pounders, not what you have in it now. i could not tell from your response if the 9 second guy (i bet he loves that you call him that.LOL) re-adjusted the FP after you went back to stock.
good luck.
