Thats gonna be tough I would think. If you can get your arm up and around there, I believe its just a clamp holding it on. I would undo the screws in teh fuel door and see if you can manuever your way back to it. Maybe if you take the tire off on that side you may gain a little room to work. It just pulls out of the tank as far as I know. I dropped my tank awhile back to put in a battery box in the hatch and it stays attached to the body, and u just slide it out to drop the tank.
I was going to try to unbolt the neck at the door and see how far I can slide the thing out. If that fails, then I'll drop it. Not a biggie but the aftermarket tank doesn't fit quite as good as the original so the strap bolts are a bear.
Now, ask why I have a new tank! GT would stall in a left turn only. Took forever to figure out why. The baffle broke free in the tank!
