I have an 86 SVO and my fuel pressure regulator is leaking. The one that is in line flowing towards the fuel rail. I have gone to every parts store where i live and they cannot get it. It is a Bosch unit. Do you think a Ford dealership would carry the part? Or is there an aftermarket one available. The rating on it is 050 p.s.i. I need this part bad because i think it is messing up my idle. by putting too much fuel into the engine.

If I'm gathering what you are talking about, it's not a regulator, it's a pulse dampner. The regulator is on the end of the rail near the front of the engine.

You should be able to remove the dampner without any ill effects, just attach the line right to the rail.

If you need a new regulator that mounts on the rail, get a Kirban adjustable unit for an 87-93 5.0 Mustang...it's a bolt on for about 60 bux.

From my experiences... ford dealerships only carry parts for a matter of 5 to 10 years and then they dont manufacture them anymore. After that it is either refurbished or from a brand other than ford.

I checked with ford and the dampener is discontinued, one more part to the list!

So it is possiblee to just link the 2 hoses together and have no bad affects or fuel pressure problems?

Remove dampner, attach fuel line directly to fuel rail...move on.
