Here's the deal... 1992 GT, 109k miles, 5.0 stock system... ya turn on the key, pump is heard running happily along but never pressurizes the system or turns off like it used to do. I can hear a little rattle or buzz that seems to come from the lower glove box area (or outside in the engine compartment near the rear passenger firewall). It sounds like the gasoline is rushing through the fuel rails and right back to the tank without reaching pressure (just sort of recycling). If I let it continue like this for a few minutes it will suddenly make a loud click from that firewall area and the pump will shut off (system pressurized now). Now the engine will start and seem to run fine until the next shut down then the whole process starts over. Of course when I drive it to the Ford garage it doesn't do this weird action so they can't fix what's not broken... is there some bypass regulator or something that has failed or what?? Hate these sort of random problems and worried that one day it won't "catch" pressure at all and I'll be stuck somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
