ok, just finished replacing some headgaskets on my car and when i went to start it up i noticed some problems.
the fuel pump stays running with the key forward. already swapped computers and relays, didnt fix it. the relay clicks fine and the pump also will turn on with the computer disconnected. the only thing i did besides swap headgaskets was i swapped out my msd 6a for a 6al which is just a direct swap(dont think i messed any wires up), and i installed a wideband. the 6al is used so i'm hoping its not bad but since its for the ignition i dont see why it would be causing this problem, but, my car also won't run for crap, i can smell some fuel and it will start for a second or two and sound miserable before it dies. won't be able to check until later today to see if its getting good spark.
Also the gas pedal seems to be down farther than usual and doesnt have much pressure, i can lift it up quite a bit. didnt see it binding or anything else goofy and its routed how i always do it. no crusie control so theres only the one cable connected to the throttle body. with the pedal down it opens barely half way. ive seen the zip tie method for taking up the slack but why would this happen all of a sudden. it appears to be connected fine on the pedal still as well.
the distributor may of been dropped in goofy so the timing off, maybe thats why it doesnt start, but pretty sure i did it perfect, so whatevers causing the fuel pump is hopefully causing the no start as well.
and i guess since i can't have a signature, heres the car details:
89 5.0 5-speed w/ RPM II intake, GT40P heads, TFS 1 cam, 3.55 gears, meth injection, 15-16# with an S-trim, 444hp
