My fuel pump whines all the time. Havent and hopefully wont have a problem with it yet. *Knock on wood* I think its pretty much normal. My old V6 did the same thing but it was more noticable from outside the car when you listened near the tank. I wouldnt worry to much about it just dont run ur tank on empty too much. I always top off when I am near empty and like to make it a habbit of replacing fuel filters on all my cars once a year at least.

Just my 2 cents:SNSign:

Eric, could the acoustics of the drive-thru lane have played into hearing the whine? In other words, maybe it's normal (like how sometimes we have a little brake rotor warpage that chirps but we only hear it when we drive next to a wall)..........

Well I could hear it before I was next to the wall. When im next to the wall all I can hear are my straight pipes. I always have to turn off my car so they can hear me. lol

hmmm....I would make sure that stang stays filled. I'm thinking ur pump may be giving you some signs that its starting to go out on you. If you get bored, take it out one day and warm it up and then see if it makes that same noise.

Mine would be perfect while it was cold...then would warm up and start to wine.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't you have a problem with ur car losing power in the higher rpms in 3rd gear?.......if this was you, it's something to think about

just my .02

Yea that was me, but Im pretty sure that power loss was just the powerband itself getting out of the power range.

But Im gonna change my pump when i get the money and time. Im pretty sure its causing my low RPM miss. What pump would you guys suggest?

Walbro 190 is an excellent pump for a mild combo...of course, with the nitrous you may want to go to a 255...never hurts to be safe. It won't hurt gas...the fuel will just cycle more which would heat it up a negligible amount...in all honesty it won't hurt anything at all.

either way, both are great pumps

I'd go 255....It'd suck to get a 190 only to find out that you'll need a 255 once you get the supercharger. Might as well get that out the way.

I haven't had any experience with a summit pump. I believe I've read a couple posts where people have said that it was a decent pump...but I have no first hand experience.

Be carefull the link above is for the non high pressure pump. If you plan on getting nitrous or a supercharger, you'll want the 255 HP (GSS340). Here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/85-9...ryZ33555QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I just bought the same one from the same seller and will be putting it in tonight.
