Well, I am taking my cobra intake back off to try and fix the leaking fuel. When I went to take the lower fuel rail off, it sprayed fuel everywhere... and it was under heavy pressure. I have never seen that before and it was kind of odd. Is this normal?

Yes there is a check ball in fuel pumps to hold fuel pressure to make starting a little bit easier.

yeah that is pretty normal. There are a two things that I have done in the past.

1. pop the fuel inertia switch in the trunk or hatch area and then start the car and let it bleed off its pressure that way.

2. Have a rag in hand and use a small screwdriver to release the pressure at the shrader (sp?) valve. Use the rag to keep from getting sprayed with the pressurized fuel and to keep from making a big mess.

WHAT?????? Is this statement correct? I thought it was the FP regulator that held the fuel in the rails. I have seen many EFI pumps and no check ball that I could see.

Pat.
